KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and ex-singer Howard Jones are still in discussions with record labels about the release of their collaborative project, BURN ETERNAL. In a recent interview, Adam revealed that the album is ready, but no release date has been set yet. He also mentioned that the project is just between him and Howard, and the sound is a blend of their individual styles, similar to KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's music. The album has been in the works for at least two years and was mixed in December 2024. Howard Jones, who left KILLSWITCH ENGAGE in 2012 due to personal issues, including untreated diabetes, has been open about his past struggles with manic depression and bipolar disorder. He formed a new band, DEVIL YOU KNOW, with guitarist Francesco Artusato and drummer John Sankey, which later became LIGHT THE TORCH. Jones made a guest appearance on KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 2019 album, 'Atonement'. In a 2016 interview, he discussed his mental health journey, emphasizing the importance of seeking help and finding passion in music after a period of isolation and agoraphobia. The current KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer, Jesse Leach, initially joined the band and recorded their self-titled debut and sophomore album, 'Alive Or Just Breathing'. However, Jones took over vocals for several albums before being dismissed due to personal issues. The band's bassist, Mike D'Antonio, confirmed that the split was necessary due to Jones' health struggles.
